OAK GROVE CHURCH OF CHRIST
OAK GROVE CHURCH OF CHRIST
A MESSAGE FROM
OUR MINISTER
"Welcome to the Oak Grove!!" We are a reformation church with a true focus on the early churches of the new testament.
We have a deep sense of appreciation for our past, as well as a genuine excitement about our future. The history of Oak Grove Church of Christ dates back to 1819. We like to refer to ourselves as "The Old Congregation with the New Spirit".
We are glad you have taken the time to visit our site. In fact, your presence and interest in this church family is an answer to our prayer. We have been so touched by the love of Jesus Christ that our prayer is for God to send more people our way so that we can tell them what wonderful things He has done for us. We work hard to make the most of our worship time together and hope that you will visit with us soon.

Oak Grove Church of Christ
CORE VALUES
We believe that Jesus extends grace to everyone and that we should follow in his steps. Who are we to pass judgment and not extend grace, when we ourselves have sinned. We believe we should love the sinner, not banish them.
We believe that Jesus is central to everything. We believe that prayer is a direct line to God, and that we should speak to Him every chance we get. Worship is our chance to praise God and we take joy in doing so.
We are called to join in fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. We believe that reaching out to the lost and engaging with them will strengthen our bond with each other through God.
Jesus called us to go out and spread the word of God. We believe that this is not done enough. We make it a priority to go outside of the church walls to reach the lost and broken. We hope that you will join us in doing so.

OUR HISTORY
Our charter members formed this congregation in 1819 and we have continuously met since that date. We like to refer to ourselves as "The Old Congregation with the New Spirit". We have a deep sense of appreciation for our past, as well as a genuine excitement about our future.
In 1950, after meeting at several location around the county, the congregation built a new building in Rincon at 306 East Fourth Street.
We are a non-denominational church seeking to restore the New Testament church of our Lord by following only Scripture. Churches of Christ do not have an earthly headquarters and our congregation is self-governing in its practice and teaching. The elders, who are selected by the local congregation, serve as the governing body. Serving under and assisting the elders are the deacons and the ministers. Presently, Ritchie Dickey, Mike Stone, William Zarkadas serve as elders. Eric Harris, Butch Durrence, Mark Bennett, Greg Fabian, Joey Mingledorff and Sean Kiser serve as deacons. Don Davis has been our minister since 2003 and Clay Johnson is our Family Life Minister.
